WHERE TRADITION FUELS INNOVATION

In 2018, Royal Unibrew approached Løwener with concerns about their existing draft beer cleaning equipment, which was both labor-intensive and required direct handling of hazardous chemicals.

This initiated a close collaboration between the two companies to develop a completely new type of cleaning system - The solution was CURU.

The launch of CURU marked the beginning of a close partnership developed by Royal Unibrew Denmark and LØWENER Industri ApS as technical inventor.

Løwener, founded in 1889, is an engineering company specializing in the sales, production, servicing, and repair of a wide range of machinery and technical equipment.
The Løwener Group employs approximately 80 people and consists of V. Løwener A/S & Løwener Industri ApS.

PREPARING FOR GLOBAL EXPANSION

Today, CURU is well on beyond Denmark's borders covered by European patent and awaiting patent approval in Canada.

CEO Niels Barfod Jakobsen of Løwener Group says:

"We knew we had a unique opportunity to work really innovatively with a groundbreaking product and make a difference.

CURU makes it easier to maintain draft beer systems and even improves beer quality – now we look forward to launching the product in international markets."

HOW CURU WORKS

In all its simplicity CURU is consisting of a compact mounting box with a specially designed dosing pump: measuring equipment and various technical components.

The cleaning process is controlled by a 3-way valve with two simple valve setting, completed in the following order:

1. Cleaning

  • Turn the 3-way valve to Cleaning”.

  • Cleaning liquid runs automatically through the tap system.

2. Flush with Water

  • When cleaning is complete, turn the valve to “Flushing''

  • Flush the lines with at least 5 liters of clean water to remove all residue.

CURU is easily mounted on the wall or from a mobile version. Hoses and power are connected at the bottom of the unit.

EFFICIENT, SCALABLE CLEANING SOLUTION

CURU is also designed for parallel cleaning in larger setups and supports multiple installation types. A manifold with 5 connections can be mounted on the wall as shown on the picture.

This allows all five tap lines to be cleaned simultaneously, saving time and ensuring consistent hygiene.

The manifold system can be adapted to fit any bar configurations and venue sizes.

Both suitable for permanent installations and mobile cleaning units, making it ideal for high-volume environments where speed, hygiene, and precision are critical.
